Co-Operative Childcare-Island Key
Co-operative Childcare Island Key is part of Dublin City Co-operative.
We offer part time childcare places for children from 2 years up to 5 years and we offer an after school programme.
Finding childcare for your child can be a daunting task. You want to know that the care they receive will be like what you would give yourself.
Here in Co-operative Childcare Island Key we understand the importance of working with you, so we aim to involve you in every aspect of your child’s care. We meet regularly with parents to give feedback to share ideas and discuss your child’s learning and development.
In Co-operative Childcare Island Key we invite parents to participate in the daily life of the service. We do this though and open door policy, open mornings to engage in play activities with the children. We encourage parents of all the children to come in and read to the children, this includes reading in your mother tongue so we can experience the rich cultural diversity that our community has to offer. We also have a monthly news letter to give updates on all the activities that happen here in Island Key.
Our aim is to work in partnership with parents and children to provide the highest possible standard of care.We operate a PLAY based Emergent curriculum underpinned by our national curriculum framework called ‘Aistear’ http://www.ncca.ie/en/early-childhood/aistear-siolta-practice-guide which is the Irish for journey. We recognise that play, is critical to children’s learning and development. In our childcare service we focus on 4 areas for each child
